Technical Consultant - Microsoft
Job Description
Salary: £39,000 - 79,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and collaboration services.
- Proven experience designing and implementing secure, scalable cloud solutions across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Understanding of Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Conditional Access, and cloud security principles.
- Experience implementing Zero Trust principles across identity, device, and data layers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft security tools, including Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, and Sentinel.
- Expertise in cloud migration approaches, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and refactoring.
- Knowledge of Azure networking concepts, including VNets, firewalls, private endpoints, and hybrid connectivity.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across cloud infrastructure and services.
- Experience in project scoping and solution estimation, including effort sizing, assumptions, dependencies, and risk identification.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or Security Engineer.
- Preferred: Experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
- Preferred: Background in building and managing CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Preferred: Understanding of containerization and modern workloads, such as AKS and serverless.
- Consult with clients to understand their digital transformation needs and provide expert advice on technical solutions.
- Shape, design, and implement tooling and solutions that meet customers digital strategy requirements.
- Act as a key figure in internal and customer technical design authorities, establishing standards and approaches based on deep subject matter expertise.
- Participate in project estimation and scoping to ensure projects are accurately defined, delivered on time, and within budget.
- Maintain strong relationships with the Technical Operations team, Account Management, Service Delivery, and the BAU team to support seamless issue resolution.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational governance within Azure to maintain a strong security posture and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all solutions are fully documented, supportable, and transitioned into managed services with clear ownership and SLAs.
