AI Security Engineering Lead

Salary: £44,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced senior security engineer who can lead engineering initiatives in a DevSecOps environment.
• We need strong expertise in securing AI and ML systems at scale, including model lifecycle security, data pipelines, and secure deployment.
• We need strong hands-on experience with machine learning stacks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLflow, Kubeflow, or equivalent managed platforms such as Vertex AI or Azure ML.
• We need a solid understanding of cloud-native and containerised architectures, including Kubernetes and serverless technologies.
• We need experience operating in complex hybrid environments across public cloud, private cloud, and on-premise platforms.
• We need experience building automation and engineering tooling using Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud security accreditations are appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities:

• We will expect you to design and deliver secure engineering patterns, controls, and tooling that protect our AI and machine learning systems.
• You will take ownership of complex problem spaces and lead through engineering expertise.
• You will work directly on code, automation, and platform design.
• You will influence direction and embed best practice across AI security engineering.
• You will collaborate with senior technical customers and cross-functional teams.
• You will champion secure architectures and embed DevSecOps practices.
• You will help elevate engineering capability as we adopt generative AI, agentic systems, and automation at scale.
• You will help shape our AI security posture by designing and deploying controls that keep our customers, colleagues, and services safe while enabling transformation across the bank.
