Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in a statistical or scientific discipline, is desirable.
  • Commercial experience and/or experience within the automotive or financial services industry is preferable.
  • Experience working in a comparable analytical environment.
  • Full PC literacy, including advanced competence in core MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Understanding and experience using mathematical and statistical tools is desirable.
  • Experience implementing technically complex activities, particularly reporting or analytical work.
  • Proven success in sharing complex technical knowledge across multiple senior stakeholder groups.
  • Experience with statistical and financial modelling and performance analysis.
  • Proven ability to balance work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with data mining, quantitative analysis, cluster analysis, pattern recognition, and correlation discovery is desirable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse complex data sets and produce long-term recommendations with lasting results.
  • Proactive and engaging mindset, with the ability to analyse complex and unrelated issues and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to deliver at pace and cope under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Support insight into key areas of long-term focus for VWFS and VWG using technical analytical methods.
  • Deliver key findings that support recommendations with lasting results.
  • Enhance, produce, and standardise presentations and reporting packs for senior management within Customer & Product Transformation and the BOM.
  • Design and manage automated performance reporting and the standard reporting suite.
  • Ensure full end-to-end and aligned reporting to enable fast and accurate information production for stakeholder decision-making.
  • Provide reporting insight supporting Retail and potentially other areas of the business.
  • Support and manage the movement of reporting activity and the reporting suite into data product-based teams.
  • Support the timely delivery of data requested by senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Ensure consistency across relevant reporting and analytical presentations, providing off-the-shelf answers where appropriate.
  • Produce reporting and analysis to support local senior management and Headquarter requirements, including sales and financial information.
  • Monitor actual sales and financial performance versus budgeted performance and highlight significant deviations with rationale.
  • Use analytical tools such as data mining, quantitative analysis, cluster analysis, pattern recognition, and correlation discovery to deliver performance insights to senior leadership.
  • Support the Customer & Product Transformation department with commercial insight to complement technical insight.
  • Produce analytics and reporting that create organisational value and ensure reporting is right first time for senior stakeholders.
  • Analyse key customer behaviours within campaigns, including right of withdrawal analysis, early settlement analysis, and renewal rates, to ensure appropriate control mechanisms are in place.
  • Own and manage changes to source Business Objects systems.

We are offering a Data Analyst role with a rate of up to £426 per day on an umbrella-only basis for a 4-month duration.
