Sr Lead Software Engineer - Public Cloud

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We require experience as an experienced technologist with deep expertise in building reliable, scalable, and stable enterprise applications using cloud-based technologies.
• We require experience mentoring and coaching software engineers.
• We require a desire to drive change and the ability to adapt quickly to change.
• We require strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
• We require a degree or equivalent academic qualifications in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Preferred: AWS and Terraform certification.
• Preferred: proficiency in designing and provisioning applications on AWS Services, Terraform, and Sentinel.
• Preferred: ability to own technology debt and technology modernization, balancing long-term and short-term design implications.
• Preferred: demonstrated end-to-end ownership of the development and design of at least one public cloud project.

Responsibilities:

• We provide technical guidance and direction to support our business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• We drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
• We serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
• We actively contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide frameworks, tools, and software development lifecycle practices.
• We influence peers and project decision-makers to consider leading-edge technologies.
• We work on complex problem areas and help drive solutions with the team.
