Mobile Security Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need a solid foundation in at least one programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, C#, or Node.js.
• We need a good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including source control, build, test, and release activities.
• We need some hands-on experience or exposure to build pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab Pipelines.
• We are looking for someone with a strong engineering foundation and a genuine interest in learning mobile security.
• We value an interest in software cryptography concepts and how they are applied in internet-facing mobile applications.
• We value awareness of build and release controls, including versioning, dependency management, and promoting artefacts across environments.
• We value a well-organised approach with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• We develop, implement and maintain solutions that support the safeguarding of our systems and sensitive information.
• We provide subject matter expertise on security systems and engineering patterns.
• We develop and implement protocols, algorithms, and software applications to protect sensitive data and systems.
• We manage and protect secrets, ensuring they are securely generated, stored, and used.
• We execute audits to monitor, identify and assess vulnerabilities in our infrastructure and software, and support the response to potential security breaches.
• We identify advancements that support the innovation and adoption of new cryptographic technologies and techniques.
• We collaborate across the bank, including with developers and security teams, to ensure cryptographic solutions align with business objectives, security policies and regulatory requirements.
• We develop, implement and maintain Identity and Access Management solutions and systems.
• We perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, continuously driving improvement.
• We lead and supervise a team where applicable, guiding professional development, allocating work requirements and coordinating team resources.
• We partner with other functions and business areas, advise and influence decision making, and act as a contact point for stakeholders outside our immediate function.
• We take ownership of managing risk, strengthening controls, and delivering work in line with relevant rules, regulations and codes of conduct.

Our Android and iOS mobile apps use multiple layers of cryptography and encryption to protect customers and their data. We are hiring a Mobile Security Engineer to play a key role in building and maintaining our mobile security containers, controls, and protocols. This is a full-time role based in Knutsford, Radbroke Hall. It is well suited to someone with a strong engineering foundation and a genuine interest in learning mobile security, and we will support your development through on-the-job learning and mentoring in a supportive engineering environment.
