Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with VMware virtualization technologies, including ESXi, vSphere, NSX, and VCLM
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server deployment, configuration, and management, including AD, DNS, WSUS, GPOs, and PKI
• Proficiency with Linux server management, particularly RHEL
• Hands-on experience with Dell hardware, PowerEdge Servers, PowerVault storage, QNAP NAS, and data diodes
• Networking expertise, including configuring switches, VLANs, and following best practices
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Experience with automation, DevSecOps practices, and scripting, particularly PowerShell
• Knowledge of backup and replication solutions such as Veeam, and security tools such as Trellix
• Understanding of containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes, and hyperscale cloud environments, with AWS preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver results in fast-paced environments
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven track record of 3+ years in infrastructure engineering or a similar role within secure and operational environments
• Experience operating in high-availability, security-sensitive settings
• Nice to have: experience with Ivanti, KeyClock IDAM, and other security tools
• Nice to have: AWS Certification (Practitioner or higher)
• Nice to have: exposure to Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies
• Nice to have: DV Security Clearance
• Nice to have: knowledge of data center best practices and hardware installation

• Support a major program of work by deploying, transitioning, and maintaining critical IT applications and infrastructure solutions
• Implement modern infrastructure solutions using VMware, Windows Server, Linux, Terraform, Ansible, and associated hardware and networking components
• Deliver robust, secure, and efficient infrastructure services that support project milestones and ongoing operational excellence
• Collaborate with diverse teams and communicate effectively across technical and organizational boundaries
• Help shape best practices in a secure-by-design environment
• Contribute to secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure for high-stakes operations
• Support continuous improvement and the success of critical services
