Associate Director, Salesforce Technical Architect
Job Description
Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year
Requirements:- Significant technical experience as a Technical Lead and Architect, with hands-on development of custom code solutions on Salesforce using Apex, Visualforce, Aura and LWC.
- Deep architectural understanding of Salesforce integration approaches, patterns and standards, including event-based, ETL, ESB, point-to-point, REST, SOAP and Canvas.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce security and privacy, including SSO, user provisioning and management, OAuth flows and encryption of data at rest.
- Experience with event-driven architectures on Salesforce and in the wider technology landscape, such as Kafka.
- Understanding of relational database theories and design concepts, including performance, security and data migration considerations.
- Experience with analytics, MI and BI capabilities on Salesforce and in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience in SDLC, DevOps and DevSecOps patterns, including CI/CD, trunk-based development and feature toggles.
- Experience in project management and planning, including risk, issue, assumption and dependency management.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and alternative project delivery methods.
- Experience contributing to or leading RFP responses and other pre-sales activities.
- Ability to travel to client sites 80-100% of the time, potentially abroad.
- Relevant Salesforce certifications, including Application Architect and System Architect or equivalent.
- Security Check (SC) clearance already obtained or immediate eligibility for SC clearance is preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, verbal and written skills, with the ability to adapt for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, especially with senior client technical stakeholders.
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Experience in technical pre-sales, bid documentation and bid meetings is desirable.
- Experience contributing to thought leadership through white papers, blog posts or speaking engagements is desirable.
- Experience or interest in Agentforce AI, AI/ML, autonomous agents and enterprise AI solution design is desirable.
- Lead workstreams on large-scale Salesforce engagements as the technical leader, managing expectations, quality, task distribution and technical outputs.
- Lead workshops to understand and document client needs from a Salesforce and enterprise architecture perspective.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, including delegation, oversight and accountability for technical success.
- Lead the development, implementation, physical design and architecture of solutions aligned to best practices and standards.
- Translate and communicate technical requirements and solutions to the business and executive stakeholders.
- Manage key client stakeholders as the main point of contact for Salesforce technical solutions.
- Independently lead pre-sales activities, shape propositions and document and present architectural solutions.
- Mentor and coach junior technical talent and help drive continuous improvement of architectural standards, frameworks and tools.
- Build and maintain a strong internal and external network, advocating for technology and engineering best practices.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, sharing insight on emerging technologies and how they can support client transformation.
- Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, frameworks and platforms, including AI/ML and autonomous systems.
- Ensure solutions meet quality standards for performance, scalability, security, reliability and maintainability.
- Establish and enforce architectural governance processes.
- Support technical strategy and roadmap development for clients, including emerging trends in AI and autonomous agents.
