Junior Software Developer - Trading

Salary: £60,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong educational background with at least a 2:1 in a STEM subject
• Commercial experience developing with C#
• Good understanding of .NET / .NET Core
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software development principles
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• A genuine interest in developing high-quality software
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a development team
• Experience with ASP.NET Core or Web APIs
• Knowledge of SQL Server
• Exposure to multithreading, asynchronous programming, or distributed systems
• Experience with Git and modern development practices
• Understanding of performance optimisation and low-latency systems
• Exposure to automated testing and CI/CD
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using C# and .NET
• Contribute to the development of high-performance and real-time software systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Work alongside senior developers to investigate and resolve technical issues
• Develop new features and functionality based on business and technical requirements
• Work with databases and SQL to retrieve and manage application data
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging
• Help monitor and troubleshoot production systems
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and other technical teams
• Learn and apply best practices around software development, performance, and system reliability
