Senior Python Developer

Salary: £67,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Python Developer
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python and modern coding practices
• Experience with cloud and serverless technologies
• Familiarity with Azure Architecture and REST APIs
• Understanding of databases and SQL
• Experience working with CI/CD practices and a test-first approach
• Knowledge of microservice infrastructure and software development best practices and standards
• Experience with secure software development
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience with cloud architectures and infrastructure is desirable
• Agile development experience is desirable
• Full stack Python development expertise is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient software systems using Python, cloud, and serverless technologies
• Create and implement Python-based applications and systems, ensuring functionality and performance
• Work closely with Developers, UX, QA, DevOps, and Cloud Architecture teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and specifications
• Develop high-quality code following development practices set by the Product Engineering / Architecture Lead
• Mentor more junior members of the team and provide technical guidance
• Perform regular code reviews and uphold code quality metrics
• Implement a test-first approach to development
• Troubleshoot and debug code issues to ensure smooth operation of software
• Optimize and test software for performance and reliability
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and standards in Python development
