Java Developer

Salary: £30,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong engineering background delivering complex software in fast-paced environments.
• Solid grounding in Object-Oriented and/or Functional programming.
• Proven use of XP/agile practices, including TDD, acceptance testing, pair programming, and continuous integration.
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with building modern web applications using TypeScript and React.
• Experience applying iterative development to deliver high-value outcomes in complex domains.
• Exposure to data-driven or analytical systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, and operating production systems.
• Understanding of front-office or revenue-generating technology in an investment bank.
• Knowledge of FIC products such as FX, Credit, Rates, or EM, or a strong motivation to develop this domain expertise and learn sales workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Build high-performance, scalable software components using modern engineering practices and contribute to complex technical problem solving.
• Support the design and implementation of distributed, service-oriented architectures using Java or Kotlin, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
• Create intuitive and responsive user interfaces using React, improving how salespeople access insights and manage client workflow.
• Contribute to the development of data-driven application features that enhance sales workflows and client interaction.
• Integrate with existing systems and contribute to the development of a cohesive sales technology platform aligned with strategic direction.
• Work closely with sales, product, data, and engineering teams to gather requirements, shape solutions, and ensure successful delivery.
