Platform Engineer

Salary: £35,000 - 35,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
• We would value a background in software-focused organisations or close collaboration with development teams.
• We need a strong understanding of networking, IP addressing, and enterprise IT environments.
• We are looking for a code-first mindset and a strong focus on automation.
• We value excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• We need strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• We would ideally like technical experience with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and/or Bash scripting, OOP principles, CLI, Linux and Windows Server administration, networking technologies, DNS, Active Directory, Hyper-V, enterprise storage, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and SonarQube.

Responsibilities:

• We will ask you to implement, maintain, and upgrade our Managed Service, Hosted Product, and infrastructure.
• You will administer and maintain critical information control systems supporting our managed and hosted services.
• You will collaborate with development teams and wider business teams to keep systems accurate, available, and fit for purpose.
• You will configure, maintain, and upgrade platform infrastructure and services.
• You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve platform and service issues.
• You will complete dry run testing before implementation and ensure rollback functionality is in place.
• You will work with third-party vendors and suppliers to ensure systems perform optimally.
• You will facilitate knowledge sharing between internal teams and external stakeholders.
• You will maintain platform documentation, reporting information, and operational records.
• You will drive automation and continuous improvement across the platform estate.
