IT Operations Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience supporting enterprise operational environments and mission-critical platforms
• Experience with Unisys mainframe environments is highly desirable
• Experience with OpCon job scheduling or another enterprise scheduling platform
• Experience with SQL Server administration, troubleshooting and performance tuning
• Experience with Windows Server environments
• Experience with PowerShell scripting
• Experience with SFTP
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience with ITIL / ITSM practices
• Experience with Major Incident Management within a production support environment
• Experience driving automation and operational improvement initiatives

Responsibilities:

• We lead technical response during major incidents and coordinate service recovery
• We provide expert 3rd line support for complex operational issues
• We maintain and improve platform monitoring, automation and job scheduling
• We support system administration, performance tuning, resilience and disaster recovery
• We manage complex system changes and releases
• We work closely with Infrastructure, Development, Security and third-party suppliers
• We drive continual service improvement and promote ITIL best practices
• We mentor colleagues and help develop technical capability across the team
