Technical Author

Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Technical Author/Writer within Defence or Military communications
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and standard documentation
• Familiarity with document management tools such as SharePoint and Confluence
• Must be a sole British national
• Must be eligible to undergo SC Clearance

Responsibilities:

• Maintain technical documentation in line with Allied Communications Publications (ACP) and relevant NATO STANAGs
• Interpret and apply complex NATO communication standards
• Collaborate closely with engineers, SMEs, defence stakeholders and project teams
• Create user manuals, system documentation, operating procedures and training materials
• Ensure documentation aligns with international standards and supports operational interoperability
• Produce documentation that is accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to support our Defence work, ensuring our documentation meets international standards and enables operational interoperability. In this role, we will work closely with engineers, SMEs, defence stakeholders and project teams to produce clear, accessible technical documentation. The position is on site three days a week in Farnborough, and due to the nature of the role, candidates must be sole British nationals and eligible for SC Clearance.
