Salary: £35,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require 4+ years of experience at IT Manager level or above.
  • We require strong practical experience managing a Microsoft-based IT environment.
  • We require hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • We require strong experience administering Azure Virtual Desktop and FSLogix.
  • We require strong Microsoft 365 administration experience, including SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • We require experience managing networks, firewalls, VPNs and secure remote access.
  • We require experience supporting 3CX or a comparable business telephony platform.
  • We require experience supporting diallers, contact-centre systems or high-volume telephony environments.
  • We require experience with remote monitoring and management software.
  • We require good knowledge of cyber-security controls, patching, endpoint protection and access management.
  • We require experience supporting Cyber Essentials, penetration testing or similar compliance programmes.
  • We require strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • We require the ability to manage suppliers and resolve escalated technical incidents.
  • We require strong documentation, communication and organisational skills.
  • We prefer Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 certifications.
  • We prefer Cyber Essentials assessor, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+ or similar security knowledge.
  • We prefer experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Conditional Access and Microsoft Defender.
  • We prefer experience with PowerShell or other automation tools.
  • We prefer experience managing IT services for a geographically distributed workforce.

Responsibilities:
  • We take day-to-day ownership of our IT systems, infrastructure and technology services.
  • We ensure our systems are reliable, secure, appropriately monitored and available to users during operating hours.
  • We manage incidents from initial diagnosis through to resolution, including communication with senior stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
  • We establish appropriate service levels, escalation procedures and incident-management processes.
  • We provide senior-level technical support for complex or business-critical issues.
  • We maintain accurate system documentation, asset records, network diagrams, administrator-access records and operating procedures.
  • We manage user onboarding, role changes and offboarding, ensuring access is granted and removed securely.
  • We identify recurring support issues and implement permanent technical or process improvements.
  • We administer and optimise our Microsoft Azure environment.
  • We manage Azure Virtual Desktop, including host pools, session hosts, user access, performance, availability and capacity.
  • We administer FSLogix profiles and troubleshoot profile, storage, login and application issues.
  • We manage Azure networking, including virtual networks, network security groups, routing, gateways and connectivity.
  • We review Azure usage and expenditure and identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience and cost efficiency.
  • We maintain appropriate backup, recovery and business-continuity arrangements for cloud services.
  • We implement secure administrative access, role-based permissions and appropriate monitoring.
  • We administer Microsoft 365, including user accounts, groups, licences and security settings.
  • We manage SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Microsoft Office applications.
  • We support the structure, permissions, governance and ongoing development of SharePoint sites and document libraries.
  • We manage file sharing, retention, version control and access to company information.
  • We maintain email-security settings and our email-signature management software.
  • We support Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online and related collaboration services where required.
  • We help users adopt Microsoft 365 tools effectively and securely.
  • We take operational ownership of our cyber-security controls.
  • We lead preparation for Cyber Essentials and, where required, Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • We coordinate penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and remediation work.
  • We maintain security policies, risk registers, evidence files and compliance documentation.
  • We manage patching, endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, access controls and privileged accounts.
  • We review security alerts and coordinate the response to suspected cyber incidents.
  • We conduct regular access reviews and ensure that leavers and dormant accounts are handled promptly.
  • We support security-awareness training and phishing-simulation exercises.
  • We work with suppliers and senior management to ensure identified vulnerabilities are resolved within agreed timescales.
  • We contribute to disaster-recovery, business-continuity and cyber-incident-response planning.
  • We manage office and cloud network connectivity.
  • We administer firewalls, VPNs, routing, DNS and secure remote-access services.
  • We implement and review firewall policies, including IP whitelisting and access restrictions.
  • We troubleshoot connectivity, latency, packet-loss and remote-access issues.
  • We maintain secure connectivity between users, offices, cloud environments and third-party platforms.
  • We regularly review firewall and VPN configurations to remove obsolete or excessive access.
  • We administer and support our 3CX telephone system.
  • We manage extensions, call routing, queues, recordings, permissions and reporting.
  • We support outbound dialler platforms and their integration with business processes.
  • We troubleshoot call-quality, connectivity, headset and user-access issues.
  • We work with telecoms and software providers to resolve faults and implement changes.
  • We ensure telephony configurations support business requirements while remaining secure and compliant.
  • We administer our remote monitoring and management platform.
  • We maintain visibility of endpoint health, security status, patching and software versions.
  • We manage laptops, desktops and other company devices throughout their lifecycle.
  • We standardise device builds, security configurations and application deployment.
  • We implement proactive monitoring and alerts to identify issues before they affect users.
  • We maintain hardware and software inventories and support equipment purchasing and replacement planning.
  • We manage relationships with technology suppliers, support partners and software providers.
  • We review supplier performance, contracts, licences and renewal requirements.
  • We lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology-improvement projects.
  • We produce clear project plans, risk assessments, implementation plans and post-project reviews.
  • We evaluate new technologies based on security, reliability, usability, cost and business value.
  • We work with operational teams to understand their requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
  • We support the integration of new clients, services, systems or operational teams where required.

We are an office-based business near Manchester Airport offering a full-time, permanent IT Manager role with working hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm, and a salary of £35,000–£45,000 per annum depending on experience. This is a hands-on position reporting to our Senior Leadership Team, with responsibility for a broad technology environment supporting a growing, internationally distributed workforce. The role includes reasonable out-of-hours availability for serious or business-critical incidents, with on-call arrangements agreed as part of the employment package.
