About the Role 

Sitting at the intersection of analytics, data engineering, and Ecom stakeholder support, this hands-on technical role owns Retail Media and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) analytics for the Enablement & Martech team. Operating within the Partner Success department, you will partner closely with international retail partners operating the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) to turn business metric definitions into precise, trusted technical logic. You will also play a key role in expanding into Ecom Analytics Engineering as we build out reporting marts and establish a new semantic layer.

Beyond technical delivery, you will act as a pivotal liaison between Analytics Engineering, Product, and commercial stakeholders to define, govern, and migrate core Ecom metrics. You will drive Looker governance, provide actionable digital performance analysis, automated reporting workflows, and champion best practices across the business while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Own Retail Media analytics, including building and troubleshooting Looker Explores, resolving data-quality issues, and scoping aggregation tables to optimize performance.
• Help establish the Ecom Analytics Engineering remit by translating business definitions of core metrics into clear technical logic.
• Own and maintain the metric dictionary for core Ecom metrics, defining valid dimensions for splitting and aggregating data.
• Act as the analytics liaison to Analytics Engineering for building reporting marts and prioritizing metric migrations.
• Automate recurring Retail Media and partner performance reporting to eliminate manual effort and boost data reliability.
• Conduct digital performance analyses using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to inform partner and internal stakeholder decision-making.
• Drive Looker governance across the organization, including content certification, naming conventions, and data-source standardization.
• Deliver ad-hoc and ticketed technical analysis for Ecom and retail partner stakeholders as business priorities evolve.
• Present data-driven insights and strategic recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor junior analysts and champion analytical best practices across the team.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Strong technical proficiency in SQL and BigQuery alongside proven experience building and maintaining Looker Explores and reports.
• Some practical experience using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for digital and ecommerce analytics.
• Proven track record translating complex or ambiguous business requirements into well-documented technical metric definitions.
• Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and experience collaborating with Analytics Engineering on semantic layers and reporting marts.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• A self-starter mindset focused on automating repeatable processes, with hands-on experience using AI tools (such as Claude) to accelerate analytical workflows.

Nice to Haves

• Experience in retail media, onsite advertising measurement, or familiarity with Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM).
• Experience building or maintaining a metric dictionary, data glossary, or semantic layer.
• Programming experience in Python or R, or holding a GA4 / Google Analytics certification.
• Deep understanding of ecommerce customer behavior, digital performance metrics, or experience in a technical lead / mentoring capacity.
