Technical Lead (Full Stack Java)

Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with strong Java expertise.
• We are looking for a Full Stack Java professional with deep expertise in Java Spring, microservices architecture and event-driven systems using Kafka.
• We value hands-on experience across Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB and modern observability tooling.
• We are looking for a solid grounding in design patterns, Domain-Driven Design and front-end development, ideally React.js.
• We need someone able to produce production-quality code with comprehensive test coverage.
• We require exceptional communication, proactive ownership, transparency and a solution-focused mindset.
• We value a commitment to continuous learning, mentoring others and contributing positively to a collaborative engineering culture.

Responsibilities:

• We define solution architecture in partnership with the Head Architect.
• We present architectural approaches and technical solutions to fellow Technical Leads.
• We produce high-level documentation for agreed technical implementations.
• We participate in solution design sessions, design workshops and peer code reviews.
• We write high-quality, well-tested production code and refactor legacy components.
• We apply best-practice development techniques, including design patterns and coding standards.
• We contribute to user story creation, acceptance criteria, estimation and testing.
• We fully engage in agile ceremonies, including planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• We stay current with emerging technologies aligned to business and architectural needs.
• We mentor and coach engineering team members to support their professional development.
