Staging Engineer

Salary: £24,500 - 42,000 per year

Requirements:

• Demonstrable engineering installation and commissioning experience
• Strong technical knowledge of networking principles
• Experience working in delivery environments with a proven track record of successful technical project implementation
• Strong Office 365 skills
• Ability to follow documentation and learn new skills quickly
• Good timekeeping and the ability to meet deadlines
• Commitment to health and safety rules and quality standards
• Effective communication and collaborative working in fast-paced environments
• Strong organisation, a proactive attitude, and commitment to development
• Relevant technical training
• National Grid competent person status with SC clearance
• Experience in field engineering and supporting team delivery
• Experience with Hitachi FOX/XMC or ADTRAN DWDM/Carrier Ethernet is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Report to the Field Manager and support equipment installation, labelling, commissioning, and power works within our Coventry staging environment
• Work on SDH/MPLS-TP, DWDM, Carrier Ethernet, and fixed OTDR devices
• Assist with testing to ensure readiness for field use
• Complete tasks to a high standard in line with build templates and health and safety policies
• Collaborate with the Lead I&C Engineer, Commissioning Engineers, and Project Engineer
• Provide progress updates across sites
• Monitor build progress and report issues as needed
