Solar Web UI Developer

Salary: £52,000 - 92,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for a versatile JavaScript (TypeScript) developer with strong software design principles.
• We require 7+ years of relevant experience.
• We are looking for expertise in React, Redux, RxJS, NPM/Yarn, webpack, CSS, HTML, and the wider web stack.
• We value familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, such as Azure DevOps.
• We expect strong knowledge of design patterns and best practices.
• We need someone able to design and code solutions to complex and/or ambiguous business problems that require changes to existing architecture or frameworks.
• We are looking for experience building complex, real-time, event-driven, multi-modular single-page applications.
• We value experience optimizing the performance of latency-sensitive systems.
• We prefer experience delivering features across the full stack.
• Java backend experience is preferable.
• We need someone able to write efficient, clear code and articulate what has been built and why.
• We value financial markets domain knowledge, preferably investment banking.
• Derivatives product knowledge is preferred.
• E-trading technology experience is preferred.
• We are looking for an effective communicator fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
• We value experience driving requirements and development efforts.
• We value experience in end-to-end design, development, and support of complex systems.
• We are looking for a proactive and autonomous self-starter.
• We need a keen problem solver with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to deal with ambiguity.

Responsibilities:

• We participate in all stages of delivery, from requirements gathering to post-release customer support.
• We build new functionality while carefully adhering to existing coding patterns.
• We own and collaborate on technical design.
• We break large projects into tasks, delegate them to other developers, and coordinate the consolidated delivery of the solution.
• We coach others to minimise the number of review iterations for their deliveries.
• We develop ourselves toward becoming senior full-stack developers.
• We join a distributed development team responsible for driving a specific aspect of our global platform and delivering quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements.
• We collaborate with engineers, business analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders across multiple locations.
• We quickly learn existing design and coding patterns and evolve them while delivering increasingly complex projects.
