Software Engineer II

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience with Java 21, AWS, and Spring Boot
• Some experience working in an agile environment and a willingness to learn and develop your skills
• A collaborative, self-motivated approach and the ability to work effectively with engineers and stakeholders
• An understanding of the importance of code quality and testing
• Attention to detail and an interest in improving systems and user experience
• Nice to have: experience with TypeScript, Terraform, serverless technologies, or event-driven architecture
• Nice to have: a background in manufacturing, shipping, eCommerce, fulfilment, or supply chain, or experience with MES systems such as Tulip

Responsibilities:

• Build, test, and deploy backend services as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team using Java, Terraform, and AWS
• Improve system reliability and scalability through better monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code that supports our core fulfilment workflows
• Work with senior engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving
• Participate in design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that help our systems scale
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across teams to support product launches and vendor integrations
• Improve our ways of working, including CI/CD pipelines, observability, and developer experience
