Software Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £53,000 - 93,000 per year
Requirements:- Must be a UK citizen
- Must be available to interview in person
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- At least 2 years of professional software development experience
- Proven backend development experience with Golang, building scalable microservices and SaaS solutions
- Frontend experience with Angular or modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
- Strong understanding of automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, as well as debugging
- Familiarity with AWS and distributed cloud data stores such as DynamoDB, Aurora, or Snowflake
- Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines such as Jenkins or CloudBees
- Ability to participate in a scheduled 24x7 on-call rotation, approximately one week in 20
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset
- Expected to use AI development tools in daily work, with comfort in prompting, agentic workflows, and reviewing and validating AI-generated code
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Cursor, Claude Code, Python-based AI/ML libraries, PyTorch, and foundation models in Bedrock, Vertex AI, or similar
- Design, build, and operate mission-critical platform services for applications that define policies, make real-time decisions, and respond to changes across millions of identities
- Write high-performance Golang code, develop full-stack features with Angular, and implement resilient microservices deployed on AWS
- Collaborate with distributed team members and data scientists on AI-driven features
- Optimize distributed cloud architectures for low-millisecond latency
- Build and deploy microservice features for the policy engine, with robust unit and integration tests
- Participate in code reviews, monitor platform health, and support availability and reliability through the on-call rotation
- Integrate AI-related features into policy decision workflows and improve automated CI/CD pipelines
- Lead technical design and implementation of high-throughput, low-latency microservices
- Mentor teammates, champion engineering best practices, tune distributed cloud databases, and contribute to technical roadmaps and strategy
