Service Architect

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Service Architect within large, complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and service integration.
• Experience designing secure, highly available, and scalable IT services.
• Excellent knowledge of IT service management frameworks such as ITIL and architecture frameworks including TOGAF.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within secure or government environments is highly desirable.
• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, AWS, or Azure are advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop end-to-end service architectures aligned with business objectives.
• Define service design standards, governance, and architectural best practices.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing IT services.
• Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to deliver architectural solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and tools that support long-term service strategy.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the service lifecycle.
• Review and enhance existing services to improve performance, resilience, and operational efficiency.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Architect to join a high-profile government programme delivering critical IT services within a secure enterprise environment. You will work on a major MOD project, influencing strategic technology decisions alongside senior technical stakeholders. This is a contract role paying £700 to £740 per day plus margin, outside IR35, based full-time onsite in Basingstoke. We are also offering exposure to enterprise-scale technologies and complex architecture challenges, with the potential for long-term contract extensions.
