Senior Network Engineer

Salary: £43,000 - 49,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced 3rd line network engineer, network & infrastructure engineer, or network support engineer from an MSP or service provider environment.
• We need strong networking fundamentals and experience troubleshooting across firewalls, switches, routing, VLANs, VPNs, wireless, DNS/DHCP, and internet connectivity.
• We are interested in people who have gone beyond support and have started delivering changes and projects themselves, such as firewall migrations, network refreshes, office moves, new site deployments, wireless upgrades, SD-WAN, or connectivity migrations.
• We need someone who is comfortable dealing directly with customers, explaining technical issues clearly, and taking ownership to resolve issues properly.
• Recent MSP, service provider, or multi-customer experience is important.
• We require a full UK driving licence for customer-site work.

Responsibilities:

• We provide 3rd line network support and project delivery in a multi-customer MSP environment.
• We troubleshoot complex networking escalations and take ownership through to resolution.
• We work across LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, wireless, connectivity, and SD-WAN.
• We investigate firewall, routing, and connectivity issues, and implement new networks, firewall replacements, and customer connectivity migrations.
• We plan network changes, document existing environments, and produce implementation, rollback, and handover documentation.
• We work with ISPs and connectivity providers on leased lines, broadband, failover, and wider connectivity issues.
• We support projects such as firewall replacements, network refreshes, connectivity changes, wireless deployments, office moves, and SD-WAN projects.

We are an established MSP/MSSP offering a varied networking role in a multi-vendor environment. The position is based in Manchester or Warrington with one day a week from home, and requires travel to customer sites across the North West as needed. We offer a salary of £43,000 to £49,000, plus 24 days holiday and bank holidays, pension, paid parking, a phone allowance, and funded training and certifications.
