Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus advanced applied experience
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced Java and TypeScript experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations
  • Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI usage patterns and controls
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Practical cloud-native experience
  • Preferred: experience building UI and UX solutions with React
  • Preferred: knowledge of Scala
  • Preferred: experience with domain-specific language design and interpretation
  • Preferred: knowledge of domain-driven design
  • Preferred: knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
Responsibilities:
  • We lead the engineering of cutting-edge solutions in metadata, metamodeling, and distributed systems
  • We provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors
  • We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
  • We drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
  • We establish measurable validation standards, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain
  • We apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scale
  • We drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • We serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • We actively contribute to the engineering community as advocates of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
