Senior Java Developer

Salary: £30,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Core Java skills, including object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling, and concurrency
• Experience building and deploying event-driven and RESTful APIs
• Foundational knowledge of SQL and relational database design
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based server environments
• Scripting experience with Bash or Python
• Experience with provisioning and configuration tooling such as Ansible or equivalent
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as TeamCity or equivalent
• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deploying and managing containerized Java services
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Geneos, Grafana, and Prometheus or equivalent
• Must-have experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Java or Python, and automation

Responsibilities:

• We will work on migrating the D2C platform services from existing infrastructure to new hardware while ensuring minimal disruption to live trading operations
• We will document the current D2C service landscape, identifying all services and their existing host dependencies
• We will collaborate with the infrastructure team to specify, size, and procure replacement hosts
• We will collaborate with the infrastructure team to provision and configure new hosts, ensuring required runtimes, software, networking, and security requirements are met
• We will plan and execute the end-to-end migration of D2C services to new infrastructure, including rollback planning, environment validation, and post-migration sign-off
