Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Windows Server administration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as SCOM, PRTG, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or VMware Aria Operations.
• Experience in hybrid cloud environments, including on-premises and Azure.
• PowerShell scripting for automation and operational tasks.
• Understanding of monitoring concepts, including metrics, logs, events, thresholds, and dependency modelling.
• Good knowledge of VMware virtualisation and network fundamentals.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capability.
• Must be SC or DV cleared, or eligible to undertake SC or DV Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Join us as a Monitoring SME / Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a 6-month contract.
• Support and enhance our monitoring platforms.
• Contribute to the stability and performance of Windows Server, virtualisation, and cloud-based systems.
• Work in a security-cleared environment.
• Participate in on-call cover for weekday, weekend, and bank holiday shifts as required.
• Work hybrid, with 3 days per week onsite near Milton Keynes.

We are supporting a government client based near Milton Keynes, commutable from Northampton, the East Midlands, Bedford, Luton, or Central London. This is a 6-month contract offering £515 per day inside IR35, with hybrid working and 3 days per week onsite. The role sits within a security-cleared environment and includes an on-call arrangement with a flat fee for completed 12-hour weekday shifts or 24-hour weekend and bank holiday shifts whether or not you are called upon.
