Senior Developer

Salary: £51,000 - 91,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer or Consultant working on medium- to large-scale ServiceNow platforms.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow development and configuration best practices.
• Extensive experience in IT Service Management environments and a strong understanding of ITIL principles.
• At least 3 years of experience with common web and platform technologies, including JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML and CSS.
• Hands-on experience developing and configuring ServiceNow solutions and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience working in a SaaS environment and with Agile methodologies in collaborative delivery teams.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organisational levels.
• Strong organisational skills and a meticulous, structured and methodical approach to delivery.
• Ability to take ownership of technical and business issues and drive them through to resolution.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced colleagues.
• Strong understanding of security principles and secure development for enterprise platforms.
• Experience with ServiceNow Field Service Management (FSM), Security Incident or HR Service Management (HRSD) is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complex ServiceNow development and configuration activities to meet business and customer requirements.
• Design, develop, configure and enhance robust, scalable and secure ServiceNow functionality in line with best practices.
• Deliver new functionality and enhancements to existing applications through configuration and development.
• Work in an Agile delivery team to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Collaborate with the Operate team and other GIS teams to analyse, document and report on development activities and completed work.
• Follow our standards, processes, security requirements and ServiceNow best practices in all development and configuration activities.
• Contribute to designing and implementing standardised, repeatable ServiceNow solutions for deployment across customers and environments.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical and business issues, taking ownership through to resolution.
• Support high-quality delivery through appropriate development, testing, documentation and implementation processes.
• Work with colleagues and stakeholders to understand requirements, identify solutions and communicate technical information effectively.
• Provide specialist technical guidance to less experienced colleagues and promote consistent design, coding and development standards.
• Act as a technical role model, demonstrating strong technical and behavioural competencies.
• Adapt to changing priorities and dynamic team environments while contributing consistently and effectively.
• Identify and report potential or actual security events and risks in accordance with our Information Security Policies.
