Job Description
Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements:- We have solid, hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based data infrastructure.
- We are comfortable with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD for data workflows, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- We write production-quality Python code; familiarity with Go or Java is a plus but not required.
- We bring a reliability mindset to data, building for observability, meaningful alerts, and durable improvements from incidents.
- We have a platform-product mindset and treat engineers, analysts, and other teams as primary users of the platform.
- We communicate clearly across different audiences, actively seek feedback, and use it to improve the platform.
- We actively use AI-powered tools to move faster and focus on architecture, system design, and tradeoffs.
- We have experience with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, Kafka, or similar lakehouse and streaming technologies, which is a strong advantage.
- We build and evolve our data platform infrastructure, including our Databricks-based lakehouse, Kafka consumers, ingestion tooling, and the foundational layer used by data engineers.
- We support and extend tooling such as dlt to make ingestion patterns reusable and robust.
- We build connectors, interfaces, and integrations that bring data into the hands of humans and AI agents, including MCP connectors and workflow skills.
- We design data workflows for a range of users, including data engineers, analysts, business teams, and AI tools.
- We build systems that make data reliable at scale through data observability, quality frameworks, monitoring, and alerting.
- We steward infrastructure, developer experience, and governance, including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, access management, security configurations, audit trails, and spend governance.
- We build golden-path templates and patterns that help engineers across the company get value from data quickly and safely.
