Job Description

Salary: £50,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in SOC, Incident Response, or Threat Analysis roles.
  • Strong analytical mindset with in-depth knowledge of SIEM and EDR tools, malware behaviour, and incident handling methodologies.
  • Preferred certifications include GCIA, GCIH, CompTIA CySA+, Microsoft SC-200, or Splunk Certified Power User.
  • Ability to meet security clearance requirements, including BPSS and the clients clearance criteria.
  • Willingness to work in shifts as part of a 24/7 SOC team.
Responsibilities:
  • Investigate escalated security incidents to determine attack vectors, scope, root cause, and potential business impact.
  • Correlate events across multiple data sources to build a comprehensive incident narrative.
  • Execute containment, eradication, and recovery activities in coordination with IT/OT stakeholders.
  • Lead response for medium to high-severity incidents and document detailed investigation reports.
  • Tune detection rules and thresholds in collaboration with the Security Content Engineer.
  • Identify gaps in detection coverage and playbooks to support continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to L1 Analysts.
  • Participate in periodic SOC exercises and simulated incident response drills.
  • Work as part of a 24/7 SOC team and cover shift-based operations.
