Research HPC Support Engineer

Salary: £41,000 - 81,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong technical expertise in high-performance computing (HPC) and GPU systems.
• Proven experience administering, configuring, and optimising HPC clusters and GPU systems, such as Slurm, OpenPBS, and K8.
• Hands-on experience with open-source software build and installation frameworks designed for HPC environments, such as Spack and Easybuild.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, and Ansible, and knowledge of DevOps development best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimise research-focused computing hardware infrastructure, including HPC clusters, GPU acceleration, networking, and data storage solutions.
• Work closely with researchers, technical teams, and external stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable HPC solutions.
• Support and enhance HPC and research-focused infrastructure, providing researchers with high-performance computing resources for computational research and AI applications.

This Research HPC Support Engineer role is based in our division and offers a salary from £43,277 to £51,714 per annum, with potential progression to £55,497, inclusive of London allowance.
