Salary: £60,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Strong C++ and Linux systems programming experience (3+ years)
  • Ability to work close to the metal and understand the systems underlying your code
  • Experience with performance-sensitive systems, including profiling, optimisation, and deterministic behaviour
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/UDP and socket programming
  • Go experience is a strong bonus; willingness to learn and use Go internally
  • Python skills for scripting, automation, testing, data analysis, tooling, and operational workflows
  • Experience with Git and shell scripting
  • Financial services or trading technology experience is a plus, but not essential
  • Delivery-focused approach, with a willingness to iterate and ship work into production
  • Ownership of production systems, including incident response, investigation, and follow-through; 15-minute acknowledgement SLA during working hours
  • Clear documentation and proactive communication across a distributed, multi-time-zone team
  • Commitment to clean, testable code, thoughtful peer reviews, and continuous improvement
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn and use AI tools
  • Existing right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available
Responsibilities:
  • Build low-latency trading infrastructure and core components of our Switchboard platform, including pricing engines, connectivity gateways, market-data systems, and messaging
  • Design, test, deploy, support, and improve software throughout its full lifecycle
  • Work with modern C++20 and Go on Linux, AWS cloud-native infrastructure, and colocation in key data centres
  • Optimise microsecond-level latency and high-throughput messaging
  • Develop market-data and reference-data pipelines across multiple asset classes
  • Integrate with global banks and liquidity providers using the FIX protocol
  • Build and maintain observability and monitoring, including dashboards, alerting, and metrics
  • Support reliable production systems, investigate and resolve incidents, and provide Level 3 support during critical incidents
  • Work occasional hours outside the normal working day for production releases and scheduled maintenance windows
