Network Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience as a Network Engineer supporting multi-vendor network technologies, with strong knowledge of core networking in enterprise-level deployments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex, technical, multi-site, multi-discipline incidents and problems.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing firewalls and security appliances.
• Knowledge and experience with Cisco or HPE Aruba routing and switching, and Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortigate, or CheckPoint firewalls.
• Troubleshooting skills in core LAN technologies, including spanning tree and routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
• Associate-level certification from a major network vendor such as Cisco, HPE Aruba, Palo Alto, FortiNet, or CheckPoint.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki SD-WAN, LAN, and wireless environments would be beneficial.
• Experience in a multi-client or solution-provider environment would be beneficial.
• ITIL certification and experience working within the ITIL framework are preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• Support our managed services team with advanced troubleshooting of incidents in customer environments.
• Manage incidents and problems within agreed service levels.
• Perform technical root cause analysis of recurring and major incidents.
• Work with project teams to ensure technical solution designs meet customer requirements.
• Ensure customer environments meet established standards, frameworks, and compliance requirements.
• Complete and maintain technical documentation to professional standards.
• Proactively manage customer environments and identify improvements to stability, availability, and performance.
• Contribute to network roadmaps, customer proposals, impact assessments, and statements of work for further solutions.
• Help deliver technical excellence across our wider network team.
• Complete project-related tasks, including installing and configuring new equipment.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new network platforms and create associated documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, and support documentation.
