Junior Data Scientist - Sales & Marketing

Salary: £49,000 - 77,000 per year

Requirements:

• Background in probability and statistics from a quantitative field, typically a degree or recent/final-year Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar subject
• Ability to reason about uncertainty and calibration as first-order concerns
• Curiosity about new methods and willingness to test better approaches
• Ability to critically evaluate model output and explain and defend decisions using evidence
• Ability to own analytical workstreams from framing through to a decision, iterating and updating based on new evidence
• Fluency using AI as a primary tool for prototyping and automation, with judgement about when it is useful
• Clear, direct, concise communication, including adapting technical detail for non-technical colleagues
• Bonus: Experience with marketing, sales, or customer acquisition problems
• Bonus: Experience designing or analysing experiments, such as A/B tests, quasi-experiments, or lift studies
• Bonus: Experience with marketing mix or attribution modelling

Responsibilities:

• Design and evaluate experiments to inform evidence-based sales and marketing decisions
• Build statistical models that address the teams business problems, with input on approach and solution design
• Produce findings that inform how we invest in sales and marketing
• Work with our teams data scientist, who will provide close mentorship as the role takes on more ownership
• Collaborate with our wider data science community to align on methodology and develop expertise across acquisition

This full-time Junior Data Scientist role is in our Sales & Marketing team, also known as Direct Acquisition, which works across paid and organic marketing channels and direct sales. The team brings together Marketing, Sales, Brand, and AcquiTech, including engineering, product, design, and data science. The role is hybrid in London, with iwoca offices also in Leeds, Berlin, and Frankfurt. We expect to pay 40,000 to 60,000 and conduct quarterly performance and salary reviews.
