Requirements:
  • We require a degree-level qualification or equivalent skills and abilities.
  • We need experience designing, implementing, and technically leading enterprise systems management, monitoring, or related areas.
  • We require experience with Microsoft Systems Centre Operations Manager or Azure Monitor.
  • We value experience supporting HP server hardware.
  • We require cloud computing experience, especially with Microsoft Azure.
  • We value enterprise unified communications experience, especially Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, and Microsoft Teams.
  • We require experience with device management systems, especially Microsoft Systems Centre Configuration Manager and Intune.
  • We value experience in datacentre environments, including power management, air conditioning, security, and networking.
  • We require in-depth knowledge of storage area networks, network attached storage, and backup and recovery technologies.
  • We require expertise in server infrastructure design and deployment.
  • We require experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Citrix.
  • We need strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • We need an understanding of the strategic operational impact of effective IT on the organisation.
Responsibilities:
  • We implement, configure, and maintain enterprise systems.
  • We design and deploy server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
  • We oversee server and storage performance tuning, patch management, and firmware upgrades.
  • We develop and maintain documentation for enterprise systems processes and procedures.
  • We collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve system issues.
  • We develop and maintain security protocols for enterprise systems.
  • We plan and execute disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
  • We provide IT specialist advice to business users and IT peers within our specialist area.
  • We manage technical staff within our technical area.
  • We may supervise junior ICT specialists.

We are South Wales Police, the largest police force in Wales, serving approximately 1.3 million people across an area of 2,117 square miles. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Bridgend, working 37 hours per week, with a salary of £47,046 to £54,696 per annum.
