IT Support & Installations Engineer

Salary: £35,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between stores and clubs.
• Were looking for practical IT experience, ideally in a field IT, IT support, infrastructure or similar hands-on role.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to our stores and clubs to install, configure, upgrade and troubleshoot IT equipment and technology systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity and site-level technology issues.
• Provide day-to-day IT support to our store and club teams, escalating issues they cannot resolve locally.
• Carry out planned site visits, installations, upgrades and preventative maintenance.
• Work with third-party suppliers and contractors to resolve technical issues quickly and minimise disruption to trading.
• Install and support POS/EPOS systems, kiosks, PCs, peripherals and other retail technology.
• Install and troubleshoot routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, cabling and VLANs.
• Support the rollout and maintenance of network infrastructure across our sites.
• Use hand and power tools safely and competently for equipment installation and mounting.
• Support Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune-managed devices.
• Set up users and devices, enrol equipment and carry out basic troubleshooting.
• Support laptops, desktops, mobile devices and other end-user technology.
• Assist with the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of access control and door-entry systems, including Gantner card readers and controllers.
• Work alongside suppliers and installers when specialist support is required.
• Maintain accurate records of site visits, equipment installations, configurations and faults resolved, and keep equipment and site information up to date.
• Manage your schedule of site visits and prioritise work according to business requirements.
• Communicate clearly with our Group Head of Technology, site teams and external suppliers.

Were looking for a hands-on IT & Field Technology Engineer to join our small, practical technology team and help keep our stores and clubs running smoothly across the UK. This is a full-time, UK-based role involving work in our offices and travel across the Symbro estate, with a salary of £35,000–£40,000. Youll report to our Group Head of Technology, who will provide strategic direction, while you help put it into practice on site. Youll work across POS and kiosk hardware, networking and Wi-Fi, Microsoft 365, Intune and access control systems. We can train the right person on our specific systems.
