Head of Computing and IT

Salary: £27,000 - 35,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are seeking a strong teacher with the confidence and technical ability to support a wide range of educational and IT needs.
• A degree or equivalent qualification is required; QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Experience teaching Computing or a related subject, with secure subject knowledge.
• Experience planning curriculum, assessing pupil progress, and contributing to subject development.
• A good understanding of educational technology and experience supporting technology in a professional environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, and user support.
• Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with pupils, colleagues, and external providers.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of Computing across Years 1 to 8.
• Teach Computing lessons and support technology-related enrichment opportunities.
• Monitor the quality of teaching, learning, and outcomes within the subject.
• Provide effective support for hardware, software, and user issues.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, devices, and aspects of the schools MIS.
• Support audio-visual requirements for assemblies, productions, and other school events.
• Promote online safety and responsible use of technology.
• Work with the Head of Finance & Operations and external IT providers to maintain secure and reliable systems.
