Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into clear analytical problems and deliver end-to-end data science solutions that create tangible business value
  • Experience integrating structured and unstructured data sources to create meaningful features for modelling, analysis, and GenAI-powered applications
  • Proven track record of developing data science solutions using NLP and Generative AI techniques, including text classification, summarisation, entity extraction, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and LLM-enabled workflows
  • Strong programming expertise in SQL, Python, and PySpark, applying software engineering best practices such as code readability, version control, testing, and reproducibility
  • Experience deploying data science models and products in cloud environments, ideally Azure, including CI/CD pipelines and production monitoring
  • Knowledge of database technologies, preferably including graph databases, and experience combining internal and external data sources to support analytical and modelling use cases
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and present compelling insights to diverse audiences
Responsibilities:
  • Work as a hands-on Data Scientist within our Journey Insights team
  • Build and deliver data science solutions that improve understanding of customer contact journeys
  • Work with structured and unstructured data to uncover insights and identify opportunities to enhance customer and operational outcomes
  • Combine machine learning, NLP, and Generative AI techniques to extract value from text and develop predictive and analytical models
  • Take ownership of deploying data science products into production

More:

We are hiring a Data Scientist for our Journey Insights team in Slough, with on-site work required two days per week. This is an initial six-month contract paying up to £520 per day inside IR35. The role is hands-on and focused on building and delivering data science solutions using SQL, Python, PySpark, NLP, Generative AI, and Azure to improve customer contact journey understanding and support better customer and operational outcomes.
