Cloud Security Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Commercial AWS experience
• Strong understanding of AWS networking and infrastructure fundamentals
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or similar
• Experience with Linux and scripting, ideally Python or Bash
• Experience with Docker, ECS, EKS or Kubernetes
• Good understanding of cloud security principles, IAM and common web security vulnerabilities
• Experience with services such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector or WAF would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain security controls across AWS cloud environments
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Deploy, configure and optimise cloud security tooling and monitoring solutions
• Improve cloud security posture through automation, logging, alerting and continuous improvement
• Work closely with engineering teams to embed security into cloud platforms and application delivery
• Support incident response, investigations and remediation activities
• Contribute to security-by-design initiatives across cloud infrastructure

We are hiring a Cloud Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team in Oxfordshire, with one day per week in the office. We offer a salary of £50,000 to £62,000 and the opportunity to work closely with Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Engineering and Cloud Engineering teams. In this role, we focus on designing, implementing and continuously improving security controls for large-scale AWS environments, while helping to build security automation and embed best practice across the organisation. This position is a strong fit for someone with an AWS infrastructure background who enjoys solving security problems and wants to develop their career within Security Engineering.
