Analytics Engineer

Salary: £36,636 - 46,049 per year

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of database systems, data warehouses, ETL processes, APIs, and data analytics.
• Experience with MS Dynamics or a similar CRM system.
• Experience with Snowflake or a similar platform.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with dbt or a similar tool.
• Experience with Git.
• Experience leading technical colleagues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Resilience to work around the limitations of legacy systems and adapt as systems change.

Responsibilities:

• Develop an understanding of the enquirer and applicant journeys and how they are captured in the data.
• Collect business requirements and ensure they are met.
• Work with colleagues to create, enhance, test, and maintain the dataflows that support recruitment, admissions, analysis, and insight functions.
• Work closely and constructively with colleagues in Admissions, Student Recruitment, and IT Services, including the Dynamics product team.
• Take a leading role in developing data models in Snowflake, ensuring compliance with institutional data governance.
• Contribute to the development of data lakes and the data warehouse, leading where appropriate.
• Prepare datasets for inclusion in PBI reports.

We are partnering with a university in Birmingham to recruit an experienced Analytics Engineer to join a maturing project and help steer the next crucial stage of its delivery. The role offers a salary of up to £46,000 per annum, 40 days leave inclusive of bank holidays and university closure days, hybrid working, a generous pension scheme, and many other benefits, or a competitive day rate is available.
