Senior Python Backend Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £68,000 - 108,000 per year
Requirements:- Production experience owning backend systems end to end
- Experience working with AI systems beyond simple integration
- Practical experience with latency and throughput optimization, monitoring and observability, debugging and incident handling, and scaling production systems
- Strong Python backend experience
- Familiarity with Node.js, SQL or NoSQL databases, the LLM ecosystem (such as OpenAI and Anthropic), Docker, Kubernetes, and a major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Design and operate backend systems that connect models to our product
- Enable AI workflows to run end to end and build APIs that serve AI features consistently
- Build inference pipelines, orchestration layers, and backend services for AI-driven workflows
- Address performance considerations including latency, throughput, batching, and caching
- Monitor, log, and maintain production reliability
