Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong, proven experience developing firmware in embedded C
• A solid maths background
• Experience taking products through new development and redesign
• Ability to write test code and build testing into the development process
• Experience with the Microchip toolchain and emulation environments is an advantage
• Awareness of metering specifications or device language standards is desirable
• Understanding of embedded cyber security requirements is desirable
• Some scripting experience is useful
• Degree in electronics, software or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and test embedded firmware in embedded C for metering products
• Carry out new product development, redesign work and modular improvements across the product range
• Develop firmware to relevant metering specifications and device language standards
• Build cyber security into firmware in line with new directives and requirements
• Write test code and build testing into the development process
• Work within the Microchip toolchain and emulation environment
• Debug and validate firmware against hardware
• Produce clear technical documentation
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement

In this Embedded Software Engineer role, you will work on technically varied firmware projects, including new products, redesigns and modular improvements. We offer a salary of up to £60,000, dependent on experience, Monday-to-Friday working hours, international travel opportunities and a genuine path towards leading our firmware function.
