Senior Enterprise Architect (Tech Strategy & Innovation)

Requirements:

• Expertise in cloud, integration, data, and infrastructure, with experience delivering secure, resilient, and scalable solutions.
• Skilled in shaping target architectures, guiding technology decisions, and collaborating with engineering teams.
• Experience in financial services, consulting, or a technology strategy function within a large, complex organisation is desirable.
• Knowledge of modern technology domains such as cloud, data, platforms, engineering, security, and enterprise architecture is desirable.
• Familiarity with emerging technology ecosystems and regulatory developments, and their implications for business and technology strategy, is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, document, and assure end-to-end architectures across multiple domains, working within agreed architectural direction.
• Shape solution designs, support feasibility assessments and roadmaps, produce architectural artefacts, identify cross-domain dependencies and risks, and contribute to architecture governance.
• Work with delivery, platform, and engineering teams to maintain architectural coherence while enabling pragmatic delivery.
• Produce high-level architecture, future-state and emerging-technology views, and roadmaps, including work toward implementing Architecture as Code.
• Provide architectural guidance on trends, best practices, strategy, principles, standards, and guardrails.
• Support transition states, designs, and architecture delivery.
• Embed within the programme and work with workstream leads to shape scope, requirements, architecture, and design roadmaps.
• Engage internal and external programme stakeholders.
• Deliver designs, tooling strategy, and data delivery patterns.
• Advise the Group CTO and senior leadership on long-term technology vision, strategic direction, and investment priorities.
• Analyse emerging technologies, market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments, and translate insights into recommendations and business outcomes.
• Develop executive-level technology strategy materials, including strategic viewpoints, future-state scenarios, investment cases, board papers, and decision-making materials.
• Influence senior stakeholders across CTO, CIO, Architecture, Engineering, and Business teams, providing strategic advice and challenge on critical technology priorities.
• Lead thought leadership and strategy development across themes including AI, Digital Assets, Digital Identity, Composability, Simplification, and the Future of Banking.
• Engage with senior stakeholders across CTO, GEC, and IT Board to shape investment decisions and support architectural coherence across programmes.
• Translate complex technical detail into executive-level narratives and strategic recommendations.
