Security Engineer

Salary: £38,500 - 66,500 per year

Requirements:

• We require hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, or Chronicle.
• We require expertise in SIEM query languages such as KQL, SPL, or AQL, and strong knowledge of log normalization and parsing.
• We require proficiency in scripting, such as Python or PowerShell, to automate tasks and improve SOC efficiency.
• We require familiarity with cyber threat detection techniques related to frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and vulnerability management.
• We require experience managing ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• We prefer certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, SC-200, Splunk Power User/Admin, QRadar Specialist, or Chronicle Security Engineer.
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain UK SC clearance.
• We value strong analytical and communication skills, collaborative teamwork, independent problem-solving, and the ability to mentor junior SOC team members.

Responsibilities:

• We rely on our SOC Engineer to deploy, configure, and maintain SIEM platforms, onboard and normalize log sources, and develop and refine detection rules and queries.
• We expect the role to design incident response playbooks and integrate automated responses with SOAR platforms.
• We expect the role to monitor and investigate security alerts, coordinate incident response, work with threat intelligence teams, and perform root-cause analysis.
• We need the role to conduct threat modeling and develop, test, and improve SIEM use cases, detection rules, and workflows.
• We expect the role to create security dashboards and reports and maintain incident procedures, runbooks, playbooks, and analysis documentation.
• We rely on the role to mentor junior SOC analysts and support pre-sales demonstrations, proposals, and the deployment and operationalization of SOC solutions.
