Data Modeller

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience working within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Proven experience with BigQuery data architecture and modelling
• Extensive experience in data modelling, including conceptual, logical, and physical models
• Strong understanding of data governance, metadata, and data quality principles
• Experience identifying and integrating data from multiple enterprise systems
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Preferred experience supporting AI, ML, or advanced analytics initiatives
• Knowledge of operational resilience, risk, regulatory, or financial services environments
• Understanding of cloud data architecture best practices
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams
• Technical skills in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, SQL, Data Modelling, Data Architecture, Data Governance, Data Lineage, and Metadata Management

Responsibilities:

• Identify, analyse, and document data sources required to support business and application requirements
• Work closely with application, engineering, and business teams to understand data dependencies and lineage
• Design and maintain logical and physical data models within GCP BigQuery
• Develop scalable data structures and data integration approaches that support future AI and analytics capabilities
• Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and integrity across multiple data sources
• Support data mapping, transformation, and optimisation activities
• Collaborate with solution architects and data engineering teams to define best practices for cloud-native data solutions
• Create documentation covering data models, metadata, lineage, and business definitions
• Support the ongoing enhancement of the operational resilience data estate
