Principal Cloud Consultant

Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:

• Eligibility for Security Clearance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders from C-suite down, both in conversation and in formal presentations or report writing.
• Business awareness, with the ability to understand business drivers for change, prioritise accordingly, and build consensus.
• A proven track record of spearheading successful projects, aligning multiple workstreams, and managing client relationships.
• Deep understanding of DevOps principles and how they transform businesses.
• Experience managing people and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and the ability to articulate best practices for building secure, scalable platforms.
• Ability to articulate the business value and ROI of cloud platforms.
• Ability to design and implement complex cloud platforms incorporating legacy workloads, microservices, and containerisation.
• Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or AWS DevOps tooling, and expertise in deployment automation and orchestration.
• Expert knowledge of networking concepts in cloud environments, including virtual networks, routing, DNS, gateways, and load balancers.
• Understanding of key AWS security services such as IAM, WAF, and KMS.
• Experience implementing best practices for securing data and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Awareness of compliance frameworks such as ISO27001 and PCI-DSS.
• Mastery of Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools, with awareness of when to use different tools.
• Skills in a scripting language such as Python, Ansible, Bash, Groovy, Powershell, or similar.
• Azure or Google Cloud experience, especially in a migration scenario, is desirable.
• AWS Professional Certification is desirable, and we will give time to attain this in the first 3 months if you do not already have one.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with customers regularly, acting as the go-to technical contact for our engagement portfolio.
• Own delivery management for a number of workstreams, helping define and prioritise work, manage risks, and provide guidance to junior colleagues.
• Perform in-depth discovery activities with clients, translating non-technical business requirements into technical solutions.
• Assist our Growth Team in a pre-sales capacity, providing technical input from the start.
• Act as a technical authority for both delivery workstreams and internal initiatives.
• Communicate effectively internally and externally with colleagues, clients, and third parties to drive growth.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends and certifications.
• Solve complex challenges with ingenuity and innovation.
• Drive continuous improvement within workstreams and across the wider delivery function.
