Responsibilities:

• Design and develop a new software console application using C++ and Qt.
• Define and implement robust software architecture for a long-term strategic product.
• Work throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through to verification and validation.
• Produce clear technical documentation to support development and certification activities.
• Collaborate with systems, integration and verification teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Contribute ideas around new tools, technologies and development approaches to improve engineering efficiency.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering organisation working on complex, safety-critical defence systems. This is a 12-month contract based in Bristol, with 5 days onsite, paying £65-70 per hour inside IR35. You will play a key role in a greenfield redevelopment of an existing software console application, with significant influence over software architecture and technical direction. The role involves working independently while collaborating closely with a wider engineering team to support seamless integration within a larger system environment.
