Requirements:
  • We are looking for someone with experience owning moderately complex components within platform services or SDKs.
  • We need someone who can lead team-level improvements to integration frameworks and developer tooling.
  • We expect strong debugging skills across a bounded set of distributed services.
  • Experience analyzing usage, performance, and error budgets for specific platform surfaces is required.
  • We need someone who can implement targeted resilience and capacity optimizations.
  • You should be able to author and curate team-scoped documentation, samples, and adoption guidance.
  • We expect working knowledge of Java.
  • You should be able to design software solutions, analyze requirements, and support business and operational goals independently.
  • Experience with software testing, quality assurance, logging, monitoring, and observability is needed.
  • You should be able to apply performance profiling and optimization techniques.
  • Experience troubleshooting API functionality, integration issues, and versioning strategies is required.
  • You should understand software architecture principles and scalable system design.
  • We expect knowledge of secure coding practices and development lifecycle standards.
  • You should be able to manage work independently and adapt priorities to meet timelines and deliverables.
  • Candidates must be able to work from our office in Bristol several times per month.
Responsibilities:
  • We own a bounded platform component such as a service module or SDK area and evolve its contracts for multi-tenant use.
  • We perform deep debugging across a limited-service graph and drive compatibility-safe remediation plans.
  • We implement targeted resilience and capacity patterns and document adoption guidance for our team consumers.
  • We design software solutions and help identify requirements to achieve business and operational goals.
  • We adhere to and suggest improvements to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • We develop new software features and enhancements following design specifications.
  • We create documentation to clarify software design and code.
  • We lead code reviews in designated areas to drive improvements.
  • We conduct debugging and troubleshooting to identify and fix moderately complex software issues.
  • We develop fixes for identified issues.
  • We implement software testing, quality assurance processes, error logging, monitoring, and observability.
  • We exercise judgment to conduct performance profiling and optimization of coding.
  • We troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex issues related to API functionality and integration.
  • We implement API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.
  • We design and develop software, systems, and services aligned to pre-defined system architecture.
  • We collaborate with team leads to ensure alignment with software architecture.
  • We implement performance optimization and scalability strategies in software design.
  • We collaborate within and beyond our immediate team to understand customer issues and align solutions.
  • We may provide technical guidance and support to customers regarding customer-reported issues.
  • We coach, mentor, and guide others to advocate for customers interests and suggest product enhancements based on feedback.
  • We influence the team to ensure customer satisfaction through timely resolution of issues and effective communication.
  • We implement customer issue and defect handling and training processes.
  • We investigate and troubleshoot complex product maintenance issues to ensure agreement on short- and long-term solutions.
  • We collaborate with the team to establish and follow development practices and coding standards.
  • We ensure code quality and adherence to broad acceptance criteria during development.
  • We keep up to date with industry best practices and apply them to software development processes.
  • We implement secure coding practices to prevent security vulnerabilities.
  • We perform periodic maintenance and testing operations for systems requiring upgrading or patching.
  • We drive improvements, automation, testing, and debugging of systems to ensure service and product availability, health, support, and reliability.
  • We independently manage our work, monitor timelines and deliverables, and keep projects on track.
  • We collaborate across teams to align on expectations and achieve shared objectives.
  • We identify and address standard and non-standard issues, escalating more complex issues as appropriate.
  • We analyze data and information from multiple sources to troubleshoot errors.
  • We contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • We seek continuous learning, leverage feedback and training, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
  • We develop ideas and recommend updates to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our teams processes, protocols, and workflows.
