Senior Cyber Security Analyst

Salary: £30,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Operations Specialist.
• We need hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations and threat detection.
• We need knowledge spanning network, cloud, and endpoint security.
• We need working knowledge of threat intelligence concepts, including Pyramid of Pain, IPCE, and the Threat Intelligence Lifecycle.
• We need detection engineering and alert development experience.
• We need scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, C/C++, or Java.
• We need understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, including network security, cryptography, cloud security, and forensics.
• We need knowledge of network protocols and how they may be exploited by attackers.
• We need up-to-date awareness of APT groups and their TTPs.
• We need experience analysing Windows and/or Linux environments.

Responsibilities:

• We develop, maintain, and enhance security detection content for SIEM platforms, primarily Splunk, to identify threats across cloud, endpoints, and networks.
• We identify gaps in detection coverage, log ingestion, and alerting, aligned with business risks and threat landscapes.
• We review and optimise SecOps standards and capabilities, including logging requirements, detection trends, and operational improvements.
• We conduct security monitoring, triage triggered alerts, and recommend enhancements on a rota basis from 9:00 to 17:30.
• We respond to and investigate cyber security incidents, escalating where necessary.
• We provide mentorship and support for junior analysts, acting as a technical escalation point.
• We serve as a technical SME on client engagements, including presenting findings and guidance to senior stakeholders.
• We participate in alert testing, incident response exercises, and tabletop simulations.
• We stay current with emerging threats and TTPs relevant to client environments.
• Client-dependent, we may conduct proactive threat hunting and develop tradecraft.
• Client-dependent, we may create incident response playbooks.
• Client-dependent, we may collect and interpret threat intelligence and emerging attacker TTPs.
• Client-dependent, we may support vulnerability scanning, reporting, and management.
• Client-dependent, we may take on leadership opportunities in client environments, including incident and operations management.

We are hiring for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst in Central London on a permanent, onsite basis with a salary of 75,000 GBP. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing Blue Team within a dynamic Cyber Practice, working on high-profile client engagements that combine threat detection, monitoring, incident response, advisory work, and mentoring. The role includes approximately one week per month on-call for high-priority incident response, with additional compensation, and the frequency varies by client.
