DevOps Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements:- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, build engineering, CI/CD, developer infrastructure, platform engineering, or a related engineering role.
- Hands-on experience building, maintaining, or significantly improving CI/CD pipelines and automation systems.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Buildkite, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience with build tooling and concepts such as dependency management, caching, incremental builds, artifact management, and reproducible builds.
- Strong experience working with Linux, Git, and shell scripting.
- Programming or scripting experience using Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in complex build, pipeline, or infrastructure environments.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams to improve developer workflows.
- Experience operating CI infrastructure at scale, including runners, agents, distributed build systems, or self-hosted CI environments.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, Kubernetes, or infrastructure-as-code.
- Exposure to security best practices in CI/CD environments, including secrets management, dependency security, and pipeline hardening.
- Experience improving developer experience or internal platform tooling.
- Experience supporting software delivery in complex engineering environments, such as robotics, autonomous systems, machine learning, or large-scale software platforms.
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and build infrastructure across development, testing, and release workflows.
- Improve build performance, reliability, and scalability, including caching, dependency management, incremental builds, and reproducible builds.
- Develop tooling and automation that improves developer workflows and reduces build and test feedback times.
- Operate and scale CI infrastructure, including build agents, runners, artifact storage, and supporting services.
- Monitor, investigate, and troubleshoot build and pipeline failures, working with engineering teams to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes.
- Contribute to the evolution of our CI/CD architecture, security, and operational practices as engineering workloads scale.
