Applied AI Engineer

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience developing backend applications in C# and .NET.
• Experience integrating AI or LLM technologies into production software.
• Understanding of RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering and vector search.
• Experience building scalable cloud-based applications using Azure.
• A genuine interest in Applied AI and solving real-world product problems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop AI-powered features within a modern C#/.NET application stack.
• Integrate Large Language Models and Generative AI into customer-facing products.
• Build RAG pipelines using vector databases and semantic search.
• Develop APIs and backend services that support AI functionality at scale.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering and Data teams to deliver intelligent product capabilities.
• Evaluate AI outputs, improve reliability and implement guardrails and monitoring.

We are investing heavily in AI and are looking for an Applied AI Engineer to help design, build and productionise AI-powered features within our existing .NET platform. This is a hybrid role based in Nottingham with two days a week in the office, offering a salary of up to £80,000 depending on experience.
