Python Software Engineer

Salary: £33,000 - 56,000 per year

Requirements:

• Solid Python knowledge
• A commitment to writing testable, maintainable code
• Knowledge of SQL and an ability to compose complex queries
• Basic Linux knowledge
• Solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Highly preferred: Experience with TDD, BDD or other testing methodologies
• Preferred: Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Snowflake
• Preferred: Familiarity with web frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI
• Preferred: Familiarity with event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
• Preferred: Familiarity with data pipeline platforms such as Apache Airflow
• Preferred: Familiarity with Java

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with our business development and sales teams to develop innovative new products and features for our exchanges
• Design and build highly reliable, highly testable Python systems to support our trading operations
• Contribute to complex projects including analyzing requirements and implementing new features
• Collaborate closely with other developers in Europe and the United States
• Participate in various R&D projects to identify and implement promising new technologies
• Debug complicated engineering and operational problems
• Provide operational support for our trading systems by participating in a production support rota, responding to incidents in line with our Incident Management and Response processes, and contributing to post-mortem analyses and follow-up actions
